Find a Friend

WE HELP YOU TO FIND A FRIEND
We asked people
"What is a friend?" They said ......
"A friend
is someone ....
- to talk to"
- to go out with"
- to be nice to"
- to listen to"
- to have a holiday with"
- who pushes my wheelchair"

How we help you to find a friend.
- You fill in a form which tells us what
sort of things you would like and what you would like to do with a friend.
- Everything you tell us is kept
private.
- We match what you would like to do
with a trained volunteer befriender.
- It can sometimes take a while before
the right person is found for you.
- If you and your befriender agree, you
spend some time together.
- You may meet about once a week.
- You have to pay for your own outings.
- You don't have to pay for your
befriender.
- Your Co-Ordinator will support your
linked friendship throughout
